"Friendly Skies" by Erin Currier
Artist reception: Friday, September 3, 5 - 7 pm
Mixed media artist, Erin Currier takes her interests in social and political discourse to new levels in Friendly Skies—a show comprised of more than a dozen newly constructed pieces disseminating the cumbersome nature, and subtle control and conditioning imposed upon us by airline travel and passenger safety with semi-erotic humor. Part painting, part collage assembled from trash gathered on Currier’s travels, these pieces prove that art can successfully be created from materials at hand.
